The Sq'éwqel Gas Bar has been servicing Seabird Island for over 30 years. We are dedicated to providing the best service for our community, and that includes continued improvement of our facility. We have recently updated our gas provider to Petro Canada. That means new pumps, new signs, and new rewards programs, all from the same friendly faces you're used to seeing at the Gas Bar!
Enjoy our EV charging stations, buy a selection of indigenous arts and crafts from our store, and feel secure in our priority of safety and cleanliness at the Sq'éwqel Gas Bar!
Rose has been working with us for over 30 years now. As Rose says, "Love the job that you do and take pride in your job. I have no regrets getting up in the morning to go to work. This is not just a paycheck, this is my story."
We'd love to hear from you. Feel free to fill out the form, email or give us a call to book a meeting with us.

Carla is the voice behind SqDC’s messaging and community presence. She holds a
bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and an honours degree in Communication, and
she’s currently completing a postgrad diploma in Public Relations at the University
of Victoria. From managing communication and social media to planning events
and running outreach initiatives, she ensures SqDC stays connected to the Seabird
Island community and beyond.
Originally from a small rural town in South Africa, Carla moved to Canada in 2019 and
now proudly calls it home. She brings energy, humour, and heart to every
conversation, often with a sarcastic twist. Known for her bubbly personality and
sharp wit, she’s always ready to crack a joke or two (even if it sometimes gets her
into a little trouble).
Outside the office, Carla enjoys hiking, dabbling in CrossFit, reading self-
improvement books, and spending quality time with her husband.
Carla is a sore loser and proudly blames it on her 'only child syndrome.'
