Everyone get ready… The Bears’ Lair Dream Camp is coming to Seabird Island! Join together in teams to create the ultimate business idea! Engage in fun challenges to develop your business and prove your team is the best at the end of the four-day camp.

Every year, Sqéwqel Development Corporation (SqDC), the economic arm of Seabird Island First Nation, hosts the Stó:lō Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative (YEI). We want to equip youth with new entrepreneurial skills through a fun and engaging environment, and this year is no different.  SqDC is working with Bears’ Lair to bring the Bears’ Lair Dream Camp to Seabird Island!

Think of your dream business, then work alongside mentors and your teammates to turn it into a reality! For the first three days, everyone will create products, assign roles, and develop marketing strategies. Then, on the final night, the community will enjoy a meal together before the teams present their business idea to the judges.

What’s the grand prize for winning over the judges? It’s not just bragging rights, everyone on the winning team will receive a $300 Mastercard gift card! All youth who join the event will get Bears’ Lair swag, like the bright orange hoodies, and a $150 Mastercard gift card to use however they’d like!

The Bears’ Lair Dream Camp will be from July 18-21, in the Seabird Island Band Office Gym. Indigenous youth ages 12-22 are invited to participate. Registration is completely free! We are excited to have you join us!
